It’s always a great day when we get to introduce visiting anglers to fishing along Florida’s Emerald Coast—but every once in a while, we get the opportunity to host a crew that lives and breathes fishing just as much as we do.
Recently, Salty Endeavors Fishing Charters had the pleasure of welcoming Toni Wehn and the crew from HechtundBarsch.de and LMAB Fishing, all the way from Germany, for a day on the water in Destin, Florida.
And we had an absolute blast having them aboard.
From Germany to the Emerald Coast
For those who aren't familiar with them, HechtundBarsch.de has grown into a major name in the German fishing community.
The story started back in 2013, when Toni Wehn and Daniel Andriani began sharing their fishing adventures through HechtundBarsch. What started as fishing content and a growing community eventually developed into an online tackle business and much more.
In 2016, Toni and Daniel took things another step further by launching their own fishing brand, LMAB. Today, LMAB offers an extensive lineup of fishing tackle, including rods, soft plastics, hard baits, terminal tackle, fishing line, tackle storage and accessories.
Needless to say, these guys know fishing.
So when we had the opportunity to take Toni and the crew fishing here in Destin, we knew it was going to be a fun trip.
Different Waters, Same Passion for Fishing
One of our favorite things about fishing is how universal it is.
The species, techniques and tackle may change depending on where you are in the world, but put a group of passionate anglers on a boat and everyone speaks the same language.
That was definitely the case with the LMAB crew.
We got to spend the day showing them a little bit of what makes fishing the Emerald Coast and Gulf waters off Destin so special. There was plenty of fishing, plenty of laughs and a chance to exchange stories and experiences from two very different fishing scenes.
For us, that's one of the coolest parts of running a charter operation in Destin. People travel here from all over the United States—and sometimes from the other side of the world—to experience the fishery we get to call home.
